Emergency/General Assistance can help with your emergency basic needs.

This could include:

  • Housing, fuel & utilities
  • Medical, dental, prescriptions, medical supplies/equipment
  • Personal needs and incidentals
  • Burial costs

To be eligible

You must:

  • Have an emergency need
  • Not have the income or resources to meet that need

How benefits are paid

Directly to vendors — except for personal need items, which are paid on EBT cards.

Adverse Weather Conditions

Starting November 4, 2021, eligibility for temporary shelter through GA/EA Emergency Assistance will be relaxed during adverse weather conditions.

Adverse Weather Conditions - Enhanced Predictability

From November 22, 2021 through March 1,2022, eligibility for temporary shelter through GA/EA Emergency Assistance will be relaxed — regardless of the weather conditions. This is being done to enhance predictability and stability for program participants.
