Specialized training is required for providers who serve vulnerable children and their families in child care settings.
Basic Specialized Care (BSC) Training
This six-hour training is required to become a specialized child care provider. It is:
- Offered in-person in communities across the state, and
- Part of the 45-hour Fundamentals for Early Childhood Professionals course.
Participants must also take the online Mandated Reporter Training.
Advanced Specialized Care (ASC) Training
Annual, ongoing training that is required after attending the BSC training.
