The State of Vermont helps cover the cost of regulated child care, preschool, or afterschool services.

Starting April 7, more families qualify for tuition assistance based on family size and income. For example, a family of four making $124,800 a year can receive help paying for care.

To be eligible, families must:

  • Have an approved reason for needing child care, like work or training.

  • Meet Vermont’s income guidelines.

  • Be a Vermont resident.

  • Have less than $1 million in assets.

  • Have child(ren) with an eligible citizenship status (not required starting July 1).
