Vermont Early Childhood Action Plan Summit

Category
May 15, 2024

The Child Development Division (CDD) is pleased to share an invitation to the Vermont Early Childhood Action Plan Summit, hosted and organized by our partners at Building Bright Futures. The virtual event will take place on Monday, May 20 from 1-2:30 p.m.

The meeting will focus on the Vermont Early Childhood Action Plan—a collaborative approach to building a comprehensive and integrated early childhood system that promotes healthy child development and family stability. Right now, support for the plan is provided through the Preschool Development Grant Birth to Five, a multi-agency initiative to strengthen Vermont’s early childhood system.

The summit aims to gather people engaged at different parts of the early childhood system to monitor progress toward long-term goals. Meeting attendees will break into seven small groups, listed below, that focus on strategies found in the action plan. Please join to share your expertise and knowledge of where there has been progress over the last 5 years and what barriers remain.

  • Screening to increase access
  • Education transitions
  • School-based mental and physical health service
  • Family-friendly policies
  • Equitable access for vulnerable populations
  • Workforce data
  • Promote efficiencies
