The Child Development Division (CDD) is moving into the next phase of the STep Ahead Recognition System (STARS) revision process. At the beginning of May, we reached out to all regulated child care programs and our partners to seek participants for two stakeholder groups we were forming to discuss revisions to STARS. Thank you to everyone who volunteered to participate in these stakeholder groups!
We have since finalized the stakeholder group participant lists, which involved ensuring balanced representation from across Vermont and having different types of registered and licensed programs represented in the groups. Over the next few months, the stakeholder groups will meet monthly. The CDD will provide a proposal of changes to the current STARS program to stakeholder group members so that the CDD can collect reactions to and feedback on those changes.
Please feel free to share your thoughts and ideas with stakeholder group members. You will also have an opportunity to provide feedback during the formal promulgation or rule filing process; we will notify you by email when the opportunity becomes available.
