The deadline for Strengthening Families Grant applications is today, Monday, May 1, 2023, at 4pm. The Child Development Division (CDD) is accepting applications for grants to Vermont early childhood programs, including family child care homes and center based child care and preschool programs, to implement the Strengthening Families Approach in their program practices.
The Strengthening Families Approach is a research-informed approach to increase family strengths, enhance child development and reduce the likelihood of child abuse and neglect. It is founded on engaging families, programs, and communities in building the protective factors named within the Approach’s Five Protective Factors Framework™.

Key Dates
- The RFGA was released on Friday April 7, 2023.
- CDD will be accepting grant applications between now and May 1, 2023.
- The Strengthening Families Grant will fund work to be performed between
June 1, 2023, and September 30, 2024.
