The Child Development Division (CDD)’s informational webinar regarding Act 76 (H.217) previously scheduled for July 11, 2023, has been rescheduled for July 18, 2023, with sessions at 1PM and 6PM. CDD has rescheduled the webinar to accommodate our partners, programs, and families affected by ongoing flooding in many areas of Vermont.
The rescheduled webinar will provide an overview of Act 76, recently passed legislation related to child care and early childhood education. Act 76 puts in motion several investments and policy changes aimed at supporting Vermont’s early childhood education workforce, providing stability to early childhood and school-age programs, and improving program access and affordability for families.
CDD will review key components and goals of the law, including changes to Vermont’s Child Care Financial Assistance Program (CCFAP) and child care licensing, and the establishment of a new Pre-kindergarten Education Committee. A timeline for implementing changes will also be presented.
