Category
October 8, 2024

Programs that improve or renew their STARS ratings and/or attain Specialized Child Care Status will be eligible to receive monetary bonuses. These bonuses were created as a part of the Quality and Capacity Incentive Program within Act 76.

Bonuses being distributed will include:

STARS Bonuses

  • What is it? Programs will receive bonuses for renewing STARS and improving their STARS ratings.

  • Who is eligible? To qualify for a STARS bonus, your program must accept Child Care Financial Assistance, and must maintain or improve its STARS rating.

  • How are bonuses calculated? STARS bonuses are calculated using a formula based on your program’s size and type, and they are retroactive to July 1, 2023! This means any renewals and STARS rating improvements made after this date will count towards your bonus. Reviewing the overview of the Quality and Capacity Incentive Program provides more information on how bonuses are calculated.

Specialized Child Care Status Incentives

  • What is it and who is eligible? Starting October 1, 2024, programs that earn Specialized Child Care Status will receive a bonus.

  • How are bonuses calculated? Bonuses are calculated based on program type. Reviewing the overview of the Quality and Capacity Incentive Program provides more information on how bonuses are calculated.
