Financial Specialist III (Reg ID: 26613)

The Child Development Division, Child Care Financial Assistance Program seeks an individual with data processing skills, experience with Microsoft Office products, and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. This position is responsible for the reconciliation of child care benefit program payments to ensure compliance with state and federal statutes. Fiscal functions include child care payroll processing, maintenance of financial records, analysis of billing processes, and payroll training for child care providers. The ability to work independently, the delivery of accurate and timely work, an aptitude and interest to learn, and a positive attitude are all keys to success in this position.

Program Improvement Manager (Reg ID: 29283)

The Program Improvement Manager will perform managerial, quality assurance, and change management work for the Children's Integrated Services (CIS) unit, involving overall responsibility to monitor, assess, and improve the quality of CIS statewide. Primary focus areas include the development, implementation, and oversight of a continuous quality improvement system, ensuring program compliance with federal regulations and contract requirements at the local and state level; and participation in the strategic vision and implementation of CIS. This is an ideal position for individuals who enjoy a balance of systems-level work and cooperating with diverse teams. Work is performed under the general direction of the Children's Integrated Services Director. There may be some opportunity to work remotely in this position, aligning with AHS guidance and policies.

Preference will be given to applicants with knowledge/experience in the following areas: early childhood, data monitoring and analysis, continuous quality improvement, and technical assistance.

Licensing Field Specialist I (Reg ID: 29861)

This position works in the Child Care Licensing Unit of the Child Development Division as a home-based position. The Child Care Licensing Unit is responsible for regulating center-based child care, afterschool care, family child care, and prekindergarten programs in Vermont. A Licensing Field Specialist I is responsible for: 

  • Compliance monitoring, 
  • Complaint investigations, 
  • Providing technical assistance, and 
  • Case managing licenses.

We are seeking an individual who is reliable, takes initiative, manages stress well, is adaptable, and is self-motivated.
