Income guidelines increase for Child Care Financial Assistance Program (CCFAP)

Category
October 4, 2024

Effective October 6, the income guidelines for the Child Care Financial Assistance Program (CCFAP) will increase to 575% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL), an increase from the current limit of 400% FPL.   The income guidelines for CCFAP eligibility as of October 6th are available on the CDD website.

Families who may be newly eligible are encouraged to apply on or after October 6th.  There are now two ways to apply for CCFAP:

  1. Complete the paper application and submit in person or by mail to your local community child care support agency.

OR

  1. Submit an online application through the Child Development Division Information System (CDDIS) Parent Portal.
    • If you have not provided an email address before, you will need to create an account for the Parent Portal. If you provided an email address on a prior CCFAP application, you can use it to access the Parent Portal.
    • It is highly encouraged to use Google Chrome on a laptop, tablet or desktop to fill out the application. Using a mobile phone to complete the online application is not recommended at this time.

In addition, for caregivers who need child care because they are pursing education and training, that policy has been updated to include “post-secondary courses at an accredited or recognized institution of higher education offering certification, associate, bachelor, master, or doctoral course work.”

Families can find more information on this Child Care Financial Assistance webpage.

Child care providers can find more information on the CCFAP Information for Providers webpage.

These changes are being implemented as a result of Act 76, the 2023 Child Care Law. More information can be found on CDD’s Act 76 webpage.
