02 July 2018

We are excited to announce that Renee Swain has begun in the position of Head Start State Collaboration Office Director.  She comes to CDD with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology & Human Services from Lyndon State College, a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Marlboro College and nine years of experience in human services and early childhood systems that began as a Home Visitor in NEKCA Head Start. She is a 2018 graduate of the Snelling Center for Government Vermont Leadership Institute. Renee is qualified as a Result Based Accountability (RBA) trainer and certified facilitator. As a community partner leading Umbrella, Inc, she has been an active and engaged participant in early childhood systems work in Vermont including the Building Bright Futures Statewide and Regional Early Childhood Councils and the creation and implementation of Vermont’s Early Childhood Framework and Action Plan.

Renee is passionate about using her skills and experience to improve the quality of life for Vermont’s most vulnerable children and families. She describes herself as a curious and reflective systems-thinker committed to and excited by using data to inform programmatic and policy-level decision-making. She currently resides in Lyndon with her two young children and enjoys camping, hiking, gardening and reading.

Renee began at CDD on 6/20/18.  Dianne Carter (who has brilliantly held the role of Interim Head Start State Collab Office Director) will be continuing in her role at CDD and offer Renee mentoring while she is getting to know us and this role.
