May 17, 2019

The Child Development Division (CDD) in the Department for Children and Families (DCF) is pleased to announce that Sarah Truckle has accepted the position of Director of Operations for the division. Sarah was the top candidate for both hiring teams in a two-interview process among a strong field of talented competitors. Sarah brings qualifications, background and experience that we believe will be a great asset for CDD.

Sarah is a graduate from Vermont Law School with advanced degrees in law and policy. She holds a BA in Business and Political Science from Johnson State University.  She has obtained the LEAN Six Sigma Green Belt and has expertise in Results Based Accountability. Sarah has spent the last 8 years working on policy development and regulatory compliance in state government and as a federal contractor.  She has business operations experience. Most recently, Sarah has served as the Policy Manager at the Department of Corrections.  While at Corrections, her work has focused on process improvement, policy documentation, and project management.

Sarah lives in Montpelier with her family and enjoys baking, Pilates, and hiking through Hubbard Park in her spare time.

She comes into this leadership role in CDD with skills and energy to support our strategic goals around internal and external systems transformation and resource allocation that advance our critical mission for Vermont’s children and families. We believe that Sarah will be a strong and positive addition to our management team and our division.  Sarah will start work in CDD on Tuesday, May 28 and have a period of orientation and settling in before assuming the full duties of the position when our current Director, Tim Cutler, departs for his next adventure in North Carolina at the end of June. Please join us in warmly welcoming Sarah Truckle.
