ANNOUNCEMENT: Strengthening Families Grant Opportunity

Category
April 13, 2023

The Child Development Division (CDD) is seeking to award grants to Vermont early childhood programs, including family child care homes and center based child care and preschool programs, to implement the Strengthening Families Approach in their program practices.

The Strengthening Families Approach is a research-informed approach to increase family strengths, enhance child development and reduce the likelihood of child abuse and neglect. It is founded on engaging families, programs, and communities in building the protective factors named within the Approach’s Five Protective Factors Framework™.

The Strengthening Families Grant Program was first established by the CDD in January of 2010 to improve affordable access to high quality, comprehensive early care and education programs for children and families challenged by economic instability and other environmental risk factors. The initial grant will be awarded for a 16-month period with an option in this round to fund each successful applicant for an additional one or two years.

Please review the Request for Grant Applications (RFGA) for further details on eligibility criteria, application requirements, submission instructions, and scope of work.
