The Child Development Division would like to announce a change in the administration of the child care apprenticeship program. As part of state and federal requirement including State of Vermont Bulletin 3.5 and 5, CDD is required to go through a process to accept bids or applications to administer grants. The Vermont child are apprenticeship program was put out to a competitive bid in the spring of 2020. The result of that competitive process is that the Vermont Association for the Education of Young Children was awarded the grant for State Fiscal Year 2021.
Beginning July 1, 2020, the Vermont Association for the Education of Young Children (VtAEYC) will be managing the supports to child care apprentices including working with their programs and mentors. The Child Development Division is committed to the success of current and future apprentices and will work in partnership with both VtAEYC and VCCICC to support a smooth transition that will not result in any interruption in services for current apprentices.
