The Child Development Division works in close partnership with the Vermont Association for the Education of Young Children (VTAEYC). Several programs that VTAEYC administers have upcoming application deadlines of July 15.
Apply for Recognition Bonuses
Reminder, there is a temporary, time-limited grace period for those who have earned an Early Childhood Level Certificate or a Vermont Afterschool Professional Development Certificate/Credential since 2018 but didn’t receive a bonus.
The grace period temporarily waives the requirement that early childhood and afterschool educators complete Level Certificate applications and qualifying credentials within two years of completing their education. All other eligibility criteria must be met.
If you have never applied before for an Early Childhood Level Certificate, a Vermont Afterschool Certificate/Credential, or are eligible to apply for a higher Level, the two-year requirement is also waived. Learn more and apply on the VTAEYC Professional Development Grants & Bonuses webpage.
Student Loan Repayment Assistance Supplements
The Student Loan Repayment Assistance Program offers up to $4,000 in education debt relief per year for eligible Vermont early childhood educators. Apply online by July 15 and you may qualify for a one-time supplemental payment of an additional $4,000!
Fall Term Deadline for T.E.A.C.H.
T.E.A.C.H. (Teacher Education and Compensation Helps) Early Childhood® Vermont Scholarship Program provides the early childhood workforce access to debt-free educational opportunities and is helping to establish a well-qualified, fairly compensated, and stable workforce for children in Vermont.
The program has four models. After determining which scholarship model is right for your career goals, complete the application steps on the VTAEYC website. The application deadline for the fall term is July 15.
