Important Message Regarding State of Vermont Funding Opportunities

Category
April 14, 2022

As of April 4, 2022, the federal government has transitioned from using DUNS numbers as the primary means for entity identification for awards in SAM.gov to a new Unique Entity ID (UEI).

What does this mean?

If a Center Based Child Care and Preschool Program, Afterschool Child Care Program, Registered or Licensed Family Child Care Home, or Approved Relative Child Care Provider wants the ability to apply for funding opportunities (e.g., Special Accommodation Grant, federal COVID funding opportunities, etc.) through the State of Vermont, they must have a UEI.

Please Note: This does not impact or apply to the Child Care Financial Assistance Program payments.

Next Steps

  • If your organization already has an active entity registration in SAM.gov, then you have automatically been assigned a new UEI. It’s viewable in your SAM.gov entity registration record by going to SAM.gov and signing into your account.
  • If your organization does not have an active entity registration in SAM.gov, we encourage you to create a UEI at SAM.gov as soon as possible. You will also be able to complete the entity registration process at the same time if needed.

Questions and Support

We encourage you to review the Have Questions section on SAM.Gov or the how-to training slides. The SAM.Gov Help Center is also available if you have questions or need technical assistance.
