Providing bikes for kids in foster care!

13 July 2017

Green Mountain Foster Bikes, the brainchild of Tim Matthewson of Little City Cycles in Vergennes, VT, is getting bikes into the hands of as many foster youth as possible.  He got the idea after a foster parent came into his shop to get a bike fixed for a youth in their home.

Tim and his work partner Tanya Bashaw are rebuilding used, donated bikes and converting them into single-speed coaster bikes using new and used parts.  Every part of the bike is retouched or replaced. After being rebuilt, these bikes need little-to-no maintenance, ensuring countless hours of riding fun!

Every child that gets a bike also gets a new helmet, an air pump, and oil for the chain.

They currently have 22 bicycles ready to be donated, and they are working with bike shops across the state to help as many kids as possible to get bikes of their own.

Thanks Green Mountain Foster Bikes!
