3SquaresVT Benefits for February Will Be Issued Early
As a result of the partial federal government shutdown, the U.S Department of Agriculture (USDA) has authorized states to issue SNAP benefits (called 3SquaresVT in Vermont) early for the month of February.
The Economic Services Division (ESD) of the Vermont Department for Children and Families will be issuing 3SquaresVT February benefits to recipients on January 20, 2019. These benefits are for the month of February, please budget and plan accordingly.
Because benefits will be issued early, ESD needs to complete interviews with, and receive any outstanding documentation from, new applicants and current recipients whose benefits are up for recertification this month — on or before January 15, 2019.
- Needs to complete an interview for their application or recertification should call the interview line at 1-877-403-7668 right away.
- Needs to complete a report or submit required documentation (e.g., pay stubs or proof of medical expenses) should do so immediately.
“DCF is committed to working with our federal and community partners to ensure 3SquaresVT recipients and new applicants get their February benefits,” said DCF Commissioner Ken Schatz. “We urge everyone who needs to take action to do so immediately. We remind everyone that these benefits will be for the entire month of February, so they’ll need to budget accordingly.”
All available resources have been organized to process 3SquaresVT benefits. We will be contacting as many clients as possible to process outstanding applications and recertifications.
