Landlords Needed!

08 June 2021

The need for stable housing

There are currently over 200 families in VT who:

  • Don’t have homes,
  • Have rental vouchers to help pay for housing, and
  • Need homes to call their own.

The need for landlords

We need landlords interested in partnering with community agencies to house Vermonters through the CARES Housing Voucher Program.

What participation requires

  • A housing inspection of the available unit(s).
  • Rent that's reasonable compared to the local market, based on unit size and amenities.
  • A written lease/rental agreement.

What families get

  • A rental voucher that guarantees a portion of monthly rent.
  • Funds to cover the security deposit (up to the value of 3 months rent in some cases).
  • Classes and workshops on topics like tenant skills and financial education.
  • Support from a local community agency.

If you want to help

Contact the agency nearest you. Ask about becoming a landlord for the CARES Voucher Program.
