May is National Foster Care Month!
15 May 2018
You can make a difference in your community!
- PROVIDE Foster Care.
Help make sure children are safe and well cared for while they can't be at home. More foster parents are needed in every part of the State to care for children of all ages and experiences. You can apply to foster a specific child you know or any child in your community. Learn more at http://fostercare.vt.gov.
- PROVIDE Respite Care.
Give foster parents breaks. Care for children for short periods of time (e.g., a few hours, a weekend or a week or two) or give them regular rides to and from school or after-school activities. Learn more at http://dcf.vermont.gov/adoption-foster/other.
- PROVIDE Permanence.
Give children what we all want: a sense of belonging and place to call home. Almost 80 children are waiting in foster care for families to adopt them. Learn more at http://dcf.vermont.gov/adopt.
- PROVIDE Child Care.
Care for children and support families in your community. More child care providers are needed across the State, especially for infants and toddlers. Call or 1-800-649-2642 (option 3) or go to http://dcf.vermont.gov/childcare/providers/becoming-provider.
