The Child Development Division in the VT Department for Children and Families seeks a skilled and knowledgeable leader as the Vermont Head Start Collaboration Office Director who reports to the Director of Statewide Systems and Community Collaboration. The Director facilitates collaboration among Vermont’s 7 Head Start and Early Head Start grantees, the Vermont Head Start Association, and Vermont’s early childhood systems, services, programs and organizations (including Building Bright Futures, Vermont’s early childhood advisory council).
The goal of collaboration among these systems, services and programs is to benefit low income children from birth to school entry and their families. Significant efforts and responsibilities include: development and implementation of the VT Head Start Collaboration Office’s 5 year strategic plan, connecting federal Office of Head Start policy and initiatives with state and local efforts such as Vermont’s Quality Recognition Improvement System (STARS), Professional Development System (Northern Lights Career Development Center) and Universal Pre-K (Act 166).
The ideal candidate must demonstrate excellent leadership skills, a commitment to equal opportunities for low income children and their families, and a proven record of developing and sustaining collaborative partnerships.
A master’s degree is required and experience with Head Start or Early Head Start Programs and state government administration is preferred. Full Job Specifications.
