New CIS Director Starting January 2018
The Child Development Division (CDD) is pleased to announce that a new Director of Children’s Integrated Services (CIS) will be coming on board the first week of January 2018. In a field of excellent candidates for the position, Morgan Cole stood out and we are enthusiastic to welcome her to the team and introduce her to our community partners.
Morgan Cole has worked internationally and domestically with non-profit organizations, health care providers, and State and Federal governments to increase access to health and social support services for vulnerable populations. She was most recently a member of the Annie E. Casey Foundation's Child Welfare Strategy Group, where she provided intensive strategic consulting and technical assistance to child welfare agencies undertaking system reform across the country.
Morgan's previous positions include behavioral health policy development with the state Medicaid agency in Maryland. She has served in the Peace Corps service and worked on community health development in West Africa. Morgan is a native Vermonter who started her career in human services working with primary care providers in Orange County.
She holds a BA from Dartmouth College and a Master of Public Policy from Johns Hopkins University, where she also received a Certificate in Maternal and Child Health.
We believe Morgan’s background, experience, and skills will be a great asset to CDD and DCF and provide strong leadership and vision to bring the CIS state and regional partnerships to a new level of innovation and excellence as CIS continues to emerge and evolve as a ground-breaking strategy to integrate early childhood services for young children and families in Vermont.
