Nikki

Nikki is 13 years old. Here's what she would like you to know about her.

My favorite things:

Country music, video games, movies, cats, and other animals. I also like Michael Jackson.

Activities I enjoy:

Most things outdoors. Riding bikes and 4-wheelers. Listening to music. Swimming. Watching movies. Playing video games.

Things I don't like:

Doing school work.

What I want in a family:

I would like:

  • Two parents, but especially a mom to talk to and learn things from;
  • To be in a home with no other children, although an older sister would be okay;
  • To live on a farm or in the country; and
  • To have my own pet.

What I want families to know about me:

I am cheerful and helpful. I like to cook. I love spending time with just my family more than being in large family get-togethers. I like to have things to do and to stay active.

What we want families to know about her:

Nikki has experienced significant trauma in her life. She is currently living in a residential program that is helping her to address her trauma- related behaviors. She really wants to be in a family.  She does not like sharing attention with younger children in her family and has a hard time if a younger child is better than her in certain activities such as gaming.

What we are seeking in a family for Nikki:

  • Two parents who will work together to provide her with consistent structure;
  • A family with no younger children;
  • A family with lots of energy who can keep her active and teach her new things;
  • Parents who will support her in the community and at school and advocate for her needs.
  • Parents with experience in trauma-related behaviors;
  • Parents who are willing to attend ongoing therapy with her.
