Ally

Ally is a 13-year-old teenager with curly dark hair and bright blue eyes. Here’s what we would like you to know about her:

Her favorite things:
Ally loves to bake and enjoys working with animals.

What we want families to know about her:
Ally is a helpful teenager with a good sense of humor. She enjoys interacting with adults, but struggles somewhat with her peers and other children. During her first 12 years, she experienced a chaotic environment and poor supervision. This has influenced her understanding of the world and has led to some challenging survival behaviors. Given warm and loving nurturing, understanding, consistency, predictability, and appropriate boundaries, Ally thrives.

At school, Ally experiences both behavioral and academic challenges and requires supports to be successful. An alternative school setting is being considered.

What we are seeking in a family for Ally:
Ally needs parents who can parent with humor, not take things personally, and provide her with a strong sense of belonging. They will also need to provide her with structure and consistency, give her lots of opportunities to develop healthy social skills, and work closely with her team to successfully transition Ally into their home.

Her ideal parents are familiar with the effects of neglect and abuse on a child, willing to participate in any recommended trainings and therapy sessions, patient and loving, and not afraid to seek outside help if and when they need it.
