Director of Children's Integrated Serices (CIS) Position Opening

The Department for Children and Families, Child Development Division is recruiting for the position of Director of Children's Integrated Services (CIS)

This is a senior level management position within the Child Development Division of the Vermont Department for Children and Families.

Children’s Integrated Services is a unique model for integrating early childhood health, mental health, evidence based home visiting, early intervention and specialized child care services for pregnant and postpartum women and children birth to age six and their families. The model is designed to improve child and family outcomes by providing family-centric holistic services, effective service coordination, and flexible funding to address promotion of early health and development, building protective factors in families, and early intervention for children with identified needs in the context of family and community. 

The Director supervises a team of 12 – 15 professional, technical and clerical employees working out of the State Office Complex in Waterbury, Vermont and reports to the Director of Operations for the Child Development Division. Responsibilities of the Director include development and oversight of innovative, integrated policies and practices, budget management, personnel management and strategic planning and implementation as part of the Division’s Senior Management Team.

CIS is delivered locally by collaborative teams of health, mental health, human services and education professionals and agencies in AHS regions. The CIS Director and State Team work with community partners to create cross-sector systems that advance common goals for young children and families and shared accountability for high standards, best practice and improved outcomes. This is a pivotal role in the vanguard of innovative, integrated policy and practice.

We’re looking for a skilled and knowledgeable public manager to lead a team of professionals and community partners enthusiastically committed to the well-being of children and the evolution of an integrated system of services that are developmentally beneficial for children and strengthen families.

A successful candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree or Master’s degree in public or business administration, early childhood development/programs or other human service field AND four (4) years at a professional level in early childhood or other human services, INCLUDING two (2) or more years in a managerial or supervisory role.
