Financial Benefits Safe If Federal Government Shuts Down

19 January 2018

The Department for Children and Families (DCF) has confirmed that financial benefits for Vermont’s most vulnerable will be safe in the event the Federal government shuts down. These benefits include Reach Up, 3Squares benefits, fuel assistance, general assistance, and child care assistance.

While it is hoped the government will not shut down, we want to assure our vulnerable Vermonters that their benefits are safe, that we are working to ensure benefits will remain uninterrupted to the best of our ability, and that more information will be provided as necessary.

The Vermont Department for Children and Families delivers a wide array of programs and services to Vermonters in areas such as child care, child development, child protection, child support, disability determination, and economic benefits that help meet basic needs.
