Upward Bound Programs
Upward Bound is a program for low-income youth who would like to learn more about college. Most youth are accepted in their first and second year of high school. As a foster youth, you automatically meet the guidelines for family income and education level of your family. Call the program you are applying for to double check, but on the application you should only have to check off “ward of the state”.
There are programs available at six colleges throughout Vermont. Each of the six colleges has certain high schools that they serve. However, if you do not see your high school listed, try calling the program to see if they might be able to help you anyway. Ask for the help of an adult in your life if you need help applying or finding a program.
