You have the right to a decision on your application (including any review) within 30 days — with the following exceptions:

• ESD has 90 days to make a decision if you are applying for disability-based Medicaid.
   
• ESD may take longer than 30 days if a delay is caused by you or an examining physician.

Note: if you apply for 3SquaresVT or General/Emergency Assistance, you may be entitled to a decision right away or within 7 to 10 days. Ask if you qualify for expedited processing.

How to Exercise Your Rights

1. If a decision is not made on your application in the time allowed;
2. If your benefits are set to close; or
3. If you disagree with a decision:
