People who are blind, have a disability, or are 65 or older and meet the income guidelines.

How It Works

You can choose to receive monthly cash assistance through direct deposit or an electronic benefit transfer (EBT) card (called Vermont Express).

  • Get general information about Essential Person benefits and other programs;
  • Order an application form;
  • Get specific information about your case, including the status of your application and benefit details;and
  • Speak to a Customer Service Agent — weekdays between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
