How do I apply?

If you live in an area served by our Brattleboro or Springfield District Offices, please apply in person at the district office. If you are not sure which district office serves your area, please visit our town listing.

If you live in another area of the state, please apply in person at your local Community Action Agency.
Please call first so they can tell you what documents and information you need to bring.
How does it work?
You can choose to receive Emergency/General Assistance through direct deposit or an EBT (electronic benefit transfer) card called Vermont Express. Click here to learn more about how the card works and where it can be used.
