Providing bikes for kids in foster care!

06 May 2016

Green Mountain Foster Bikes, the brainchild of Tim Matthewson of Little City Cycles in Vergennes, VT, is getting bikes into the hands of as many foster youth as possible.  Tim got the idea after a foster parent came into his shop to get a bike fixed up for a youth in their home.

Along with his colleague, Tanya Bashaw, Tim is rebuilding used, donated bikes and converting them into one-speed coaster brake bikes using new and used parts. After being rebuilt, these “magic bikes” need little-to-no maintenance, ensuring many hours of fun riding.

Every child that gets a bike  also gets a pump, rag, and oil to help them care for it.

Vermonters rock!
