WIC helps many Vermont families to stay healthy!

02 March 2017

The WIC nutrition program helps pregnant women, new mothers, and children up to age 5 to eat well, learn about nutrition, and stay healthy.  WIC offers support to all caregivers who meet eligibility requirements (e.g., moms, single dads,  grandparents, kinship parents, foster parents, step-parents and guardians).

Through WIC, families get:

  • A monthly food benefit on a debit-style card they can use to buy healthy foods
  • Nutrition education to help them shop for healthy food and prepare healthy meals
  • Information about other resources that can help (e.g., health and dental care)
