Governor Proclaims April as Child Abuse Prevention Month in VT

05 April 2017

On April 4, 2016, Governor Phil Scott proclaimed April as Child Abuse Prevention Month in Vermont. The ceremony, which took place in the Cedar Creek Room at the State House, was co-hosted by Prevent Child Abuse Vermont (PCAVT) and the Vermont Department for Children and Families (DCF).

Speakers included:

  • Governor Phil Scott
  • Agency of Human Services Secretary Al Gobeille
  • DCF Commissioner Ken Schatz
  • PCAVT Board President Steve Dale

To help bring attention to the importance of safe and happy childhoods for all Vermont children, PCAVT staff and volunteers planted a pinwheel garden on the State House lawn earlier that morning. They also served Ben & Jerry’s ice cream to all participants following the ceremony.
