Child Trends, Inc. is a nonprofit, nonpartisan research organization that studies children, youth, and families through research, data collection, and data analysis.

Division for Early Childhood
The Division for Early Childhood (DEC) of the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) is a nonprofit organization advocating for individuals who work with or on behalf of children with special needs, birth through age eight, and their families. Founded in 1973, the Division is dedicated to promoting policies and practices that support families and enhance the optimal development of children. Children with special needs include those who have disabilities, developmental delays, are gifted/talented, and are at risk of future developmental problems.

Early Head Start National Resource Center
The Early Head Start National Resource Center provides information about training, conferences, and technical assistance to the newly established Early Head Start Programs. In addition, you can link to full text articles on early childhood development and health, family and community partnerships, and program management.

KIDS COUNT Data and Publications
KIDS COUNT, a project of the Annie E. Casey Foundation, is a national and state-by-state effort to track the status of children in the United States. By providing policymakers and citizens with benchmarks of child well being, KIDS COUNT seeks to enrich local, state, and national discussions concerning ways to secure better futures for all children.

National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)
The NAEYC is the nation's largest organization of early childhood professionals and others dedicated to improving the quality of early childhood education programs for children birth through age eight.

National Center for Early Development and Learning (NCEDL)
NCEDL's mission is to identify and study issues of national significance to young children and their families and to disseminate that information to researchers, practicing professionals and families. The Center's research focuses on enhancing the cognitive, social and emotional development of children from birth through age eight.

National Child Care Information Center (NCCIC)
The NCCIC has been established to complement, enhance and promote child care linkages and to serve as a mechanism for supporting quality, comprehensive services for children and families.

National Information Center for Children and Youth with Disabilities (NICHCY)
NICHCY is the national information and referral center that provides information on disabilities and disability-related issues for families, educators, and other professionals. A special focus is children and youth (birth to age 22). Spanish publications available.

National Parent Information Network (NPIN)
The purpose of NPIN is to provide information to parents and those who work with parents and to foster the exchange of parenting materials.

Parent to Parent of Vermont
Parent-to-Parent of Vermont is an organization of parents in the state offering support and information to parents of children diagnosed as having a disability or special health care need. Parents who have had a similar experience with their own child extend support by sharing feelings and experiences one-to-one.

Talking With Kids About Tough Issues is a national campaign by Children Now and the Kaiser Family Foundation. This site offers helpful information about everything from divorces to terrorist attacks.

VT Association of Child Care Resource & Referral Agencies (VACCRRA)
VACCRRA is a community service organization that works with parents, child care providers, businesses, and community organizations to help promote the availability of quality child care services. They also offer child care providers access to valuable training and support services for new or established programs.

The Vermont School Age Care Network (VSACN) is a membership organization dedicated to increasing opportunities for and improving the quality of school age care in Vermont.

Vermont Out-of-School Time (VOOST)

The Vermont Out-of-School Time Network is a group of organizations working in partnership to build and support accessible, high quality, out-of-school time opportunities for young people in Vermont.
