Accredited homes and centers voluntarily measure up to national standards of quality that have been established by national organizations. There are several national organizations which provide accreditation:
The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)
NAEYC accredits early childhood programs that are committed to meeting national standards of quality
National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC)
NAFCC accredits family child care homes that offer high-quality child care services.
National Early Childhood Program Accreditation Commission (NECPA)
NECPA accredits small child care programs that meet high-quality standards.
National Afterschool Association (NAA)
NAA accredits afterschool programs that offer high-quality services.
