Extraordinary Financial Relief for Child Care Centers
In order to protect Vermont families in areas of the state with high poverty rates from the closing of a child care center providing full time or part time care for their children, the 2012 Vermont legislature asked the Department for Children & Families to establish a new fund by which child care centers at risk of closure may seek extraordinary financial relief. It also asked that the fund be used to help provide financial assistance to centers determined to be unsustainable so that children and families may transition in an “orderly fashion” to another program.
The legislature authorized the DCF Commissioner to develop guidelines and an application process for this new fund.
If, after reviewing the guidelines, you believe you qualify and would like to apply for this funding, you will need to open the application, complete it, and email or mail it to the division with all required attachments.
