The Child Development Division (CDD) recognizes and encourages professional growth of the early childhood and afterschool workforce in Vermont. One strategy to do this is to provide financial incentives linked to specific markers of professional achievement.

The bonus system reflects current professional development resources, committee input and public comments and is effective October 1, 2009.

Early Childhood Professional Recognition Bonus

A financial bonus is available for registered home providers and licensed center staff that work with young children in Vermont that have achieved certificates from the Vermont Early Childhood Professional Development System; Vermont early childhood and afterschool credentials, or Department of Education licensure. To apply for the bonus you must apply for the level certificate, or appropriate credential through Northern Lights Career Development Center. If you have already achieved your level certificate or Vermont credential then contact the division at 1-800-649-2642 for an application.

Afterschool Professional Recognition Bonus

A financial bonus is available for staff of Vermont regulated afterschool programs that have achieved VT professional development certificates, credentials, or degrees. Contact the divison at 1-800-649-2642 for the appropriate application.

CDA Renewal Bonus Application
Financial bonus for staff of Vermont regulated early childhood and afterschool programs that have achieved the national Child Development Associate (CDA) and renewed it for the first time.
 

W-9 Form
Individuals who have never received payments from the Department for Children and Families, Child Development Division will need to complete the W-9 form and send it with your bonus application. This form is required for the division to make payments.
