The Child Development Division is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Policy Director. The work of this position will include managerial, strategic planning, regulatory work and communications for the Child Development Division programs and services in the Department for Children and Families including child care licensing, child care financial assistance, child care quality improvement and workforce development, early education, children's integrated services (early intervention, home visiting, early childhood and family mental health, and specialized child care) family support and partnership and community based child abuse prevention. Supervision is exercised over professional, technical and clerical employees. Coordinates integration and alignment internally across Division programs and services and externally as part of an integrated early childhood system in Vermont. Interacts with members of the legislature, leaders and program staff across the Division, Department for Children and Families, Agency of Human Services, Agency of Education, external constituencies and with state and national partners.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in child development or in the broad field of human services, public policy or public administration AND three (3) years of relevant experience in a supervisory, consultative, public policy, or administrative role above the professional worker level of child development, human services or government organization.
OR
Bachelor's degree in child development or in the broad field of human services, public policy or public administration AND six (6) years of relevant experience at a professional level including at least two (2) years in a supervisory, consultative, public policy, or administrative role above the professional worker level of child development, human services or government organization.
